Microsoft’s co-founder Bill Gates is not only one of the world’s leading philanthropists, but also the kind of man that has enough time to do pretty much everything, including working for Microsoft as a technical adviser, supporting charities, traveling, spending time with family, playing, trying out the latest gadgets, giving interviews, and reading.

While it’s hard to figure out how come that he actually has so much time to do all of these (because you know, a day in Gates’ life has 24 hours just like in ours), when it comes to reading, Microsoft’s co-founder is really serious about it.

Bill Gates wants everyone to read good books, so every time at about the same time in December he publishes a list of his favorite titles on YouTube.

This year, he used a Lego version of himself to present this five picks for 2014, while also posting reviews of each of them on his blog. Because yes, he also has enough time to post on his blog and to chat with readers.

Bill Gates’ five picks for this year are:

“Business Adventures” by John Brooks “Capital in the Twenty-First Century” by Thomas Piketty “How Asia Works” by Joe Studwell “The Rosie Effect” by Graeme Simsion “Making the Modern World: Materials and Dematerialization” by Vaclav Smil
