BitTorrent 7.8.1 has received a brand new update that comes to fix some of the bugs found in the previous versions and to improve the overall performance of the app.

According to the official release notes, the app comes with a fix for a bug that caused the tray icon for XP to disappear in some moments, but also a patch addressing unexpected crashes on Windows XP.

BitTorrent 7.8.1 Build 29964 continues to work flawlessly on all Windows versions still supported by Microsoft, including the ancient XP and the newly-launched 8. Both 32- and 64-bit editions work just fine.

The application packs all the options you would need to make the most of the protocol with the same name, including an RSS downloader, speed limiting, local peer discovery and configurable bandwidth scheduler.
