Windows 8.1 will bring quite a lot of improvements, many of which concern the user interface, but some are also supposed to enhance the search options currently available to users.

As we told you a couple of days ago, Microsoft is pondering the launch of an upgraded search tool that basically allows users to search the web without even leaving the Metro UI.

While it’s not yet clear whether Microsoft is planning to allow people to use some other search engine beside Bing, the Search Charm will most likely undergo a major overhaul that will include performance improvements as well.

As you can see in this video, Windows 8.1’s search option is expected to work a bit faster and to be more responsive, so expect major improvements on all versions of the operating system, including on desktop computers and tablets.
