Classic Shell 4.0 was officially released earlier today, with the new version bringing lots of improvements aimed at Microsoft’s modern operating systems.
The app finally takes over the Windows 8.1 Start button and uses the same logo for its own Start Menu, thus making the new OS update even more familiar.
Lots of new settings are also included, but Windows Vista users might be sad to find out that Classic Shell 4.0 does not offer support for this particular operating system.
On the other hand, the new version of the app seems to work great on Windows 8.1 RTM, which could make it the perfect companion for adopters of the upcoming OS update who want to bring back the traditional Start Menu on their computers.
