Chromium-based browser, CoolNovo, moved into beta stage of development with today’s update to version 2.0.9.5.

There aren’t too many new features available in this revision as the developer focused on overall improvements for the product.

The new Chromium version it relies on is now 27.0.1453.110 and the IE mode should work better in this build, although there are no specifics available.

Further improvements refer to the download component, which sports the option to open the file when the download completes; you can find it in the context menu of the task.

The mode switch button is no longer just a word in the UI as it received its own icon.

Some of the fixes available in this revision address problems such as non-working “auto-refresh” extension, failure to open the link in the pop-up dialogs of some extensions or failure to delete the download history upon exiting the browser.

Additional modifications include removing the built-in ad-blocking component (the recommendation goes for AdblockPlus). On the same note, the side bar is no longer present, all extensions now being displayed on the toolbar.
