Corel has updated its video player to a new version, sporting support for the coolest tricks as far as video rendering is concerned.

The latest version has 3D written all over it. If you have a 3D-capable display and a pair of 3D glasses compatible with the 3D display, you can use WinDVD Pro 11 to render the 3D video. It can work with NVIDIA 3D Vision Shutter Glasses and XpanD Polarized Glasses. The box version of the software, though, comes with a pair of free anaglyph glasses.

2D to 3D conversion is not exactly an innovative feature, since we’ve seen it in other players as well; but it’s nice to see it becomes a standard feat, as it lets you watch a regular DVD or HD video in 3D definition.

The price for the application has not changed, customers having to shell out $60 (€50) for an upgrade or $80 (€70) for the full bundle.
