Although Microsoft has no intention to implement multiple desktops support in Windows, third-party solutions on the market can already do that and today one of the leading apps in this category received an updated that brings compatibility with Windows 8.

DeskSpace 1.5.8.14 was officially rolled out this morning to implement a number of fixes that were causing crashes or led to issues on Windows, but the new version also brings Windows 8 support.

This basically means that adopters of Microsoft’s modern OS build can also benefit from multiple desktops, even though the software giant is yet to release such a feature.

The problem is that DeskSpace isn’t offered with a freeware license, but only with a $24.95 (€18.5) price tag, which means that you have to spend some money if you’d like to purchase the full version.

On the good side, a 14-day trial is also offered, so you can download DeskSpace right now to see what it’s up to. What’s more, support for both 32- and 64-bit OS versions is also offered, and so are options that allow the app to display desktops in 3D on multiple monitors. Hotkeys and mouse buttons can be configured to make desktop switching a breeze.
