Lightroom 4 beta just popped up and introduced a set of new features bent to offer increased image quality and more output options.

Tools such as “highlights and shadow recovery” are designed to extract more details from captures taken in dark and bright environments. White balance can be adjusted in specific areas of the image with the help of “white balance brush” feature.

The new Lightroom offers a wider range of output possibilities, as it allows the creation of photo books based on elegant templates. Video sharing to Facebook and Flickr is also included in the new set of features.

Organization of the image collection now supports a new parameter: location. It lets you find and group pictures based on location, which you can add yourself, too, as well as display data from GPS-enabled cameras.
