Microsoft has just released a new version of the Kinect SDK, its popular programming toolkit that allows the development of new technologies based on the popular Kinect device.

Kinect SDK 1.7.0.529 comes with plenty of improvements, including new Kinect interactions and engagement model enhancements.

“This has been greatly enhanced to provide more natural interaction when a user starts interacting with the application, and particularly when the sensor detects multiple people. Developers can also now override the supplied engagement model as desired,” Microsoft said about the Engagement model.

New samples of Kinect Fusion, APIs and DLL details are also included in this new release.

Of course, the new Kinect SDK version packs many more goodies, so click here to view the complete changelog published on Softpedia.
