Piriform has just rolled out a new update for Recuva, their recovery program for deleted data. Version 1.45 of the application adds support for new storage devices, improvements and one repair.

Recuva 1.45 can now work with external hard drives offering 3TB of storage as well as with hard disks with 4KB sectors.

In the Pro version of the application, now there is VHD image creation for system drives.

The list of improvements present is quite short and touches on the performance of secure overwrite action and the reliability of NTFS deep scan recovery procedure. Additional enhancements refer to the GUI, although there are no specifications available.

As far as repairs are concerned, the developer eliminated a minor bug that interfered with opening VHD images in Windows.
