14 DAY TRIAL // Stardock’s start button for Windows 8 received an update recently, which includes mostly repairs.
Users should no longer experience trouble with inconsistencies regarding the handling of the right Windows key in Start8 1.16 (version 1.0 reviewed here). The “Open With” issue has also been fixed, so the “open with” menu now displays all the right items.
Further fixes touch on a problem with the jump lists, which would list files on network shares that were no longer available.
The list also mentions that the developer solved a problem with very fast searches showing results in the files section would sometimes display no results at all.
The last entry in the official change log announces that Start8Tweak has been updated with a setting that instructs Start8 not to carry out searches inside files for content.
