The new release for Tagscanner (multifunction application for organizing and managing your music collection) sports a set of changes designed to improve overall functionality of the program.

Tagscanner 5.1 Build 607 integrates updated Discogs and TrackType service support. Improvements available in the new version refer only to “On Music” renamer tab transform scripts, which can now be applied not only to filenames but to placeholders as well.

As for the changes available in this build, Tagscanner now saves ID3v2 tags into AAC files by default.

Repairs relate to reading of ID3v2 comments with additional description. On the same note, removing of ID3v2 tags could not be completed on some systems; this issue is now fixed.

Tagscanner is capable to edit tags of most audio formats. It can also be used to convert text from tags and filenames. The application can be downloaded from here.
