Tweak the Windows 8 Start screen with this free app

Microsoft insists that the Start screen is a much better feature than the Start Menu, which is actually the Windows option it replaces, so consumers have no other option than to use it or stick to Windows 7.

That’s why Windows 8 Start Screen Customizer could come in handy to so many users. The app comes with options to tweak the Start screen with just a few clicks and a new beta released this morning is supposed to make the whole experience even better.

Version 1.3.8 beta is mostly supposed to improve the overall performance on both 32- and 64-bit builds of Windows 8, while also fixing bugs found in the previous releases.

The same feature package continues to be available, with dedicated options to change the number of live tile rows, customize Start screen and tile opacity, and use the desktop wallpaper as background.
