Microsoft has just announced the availability of the first Cumulative Update for Exchange Server 2013 RTM, a large collection of updates and bug fixes that should be deployed as soon as possible.

Just like Microsoft explains in a blog post, this new download represents a full build of the product, so it can be easily used to deploy a new server completely, without the need to download any other files.

“Unlike previous versions, cumulative updates do not use the rollup infrastructure; cumulative updates are actually full builds of the product, meaning that when you want to deploy a new server, you simply use the latest cumulative update build available and do not necessarily need to apply additional Exchange Server updates,” Microsoft explained.

The published release notes point to a long list of improvements and fixes, all of which should be applied by server administrators seeking enhanced performance and better stability.
