Dropbox 1.4.0 does not introduce too many features. In fact, the list of modifications comprises only two entries, one of them relating to photo importing.

This feature has been available in the Experimental version of the file sync application for some time now, and it went through numerous refinements in order to become ready for the wider Dropbox audience. Its purpose is to facilitate importing of photos straight from cameras, phones or SD cards.

Simply put, with the new Dropbox you can automatically upload media files (images and video) from a very wide range of camera models as well as smartphones or tablets. Other good news is that you get 500MB of extra free space for your first automatic upload, and earn as much as 3GB as you upload media.
