The new Samsung CEO blasts Microsoft’s operating system

While Microsoft continues to defend Windows 8 and tell everyone that its early uptake is in line with the one recorded by Windows 7 after launch, almost every single PC maker has criticized the new operating system for its failure to revive the hardware industry.

JK Shin, the new Samsung CEO, said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that both Windows 8 and Windows RT aren’t selling very well right now, but he once again refused to provide some specific figures to support his statements.

“Smartphones and tablets based on Microsoft's Windows operating system aren't selling very well. There is a preference in the market for Android. In Europe, we're also seeing lackluster demand for Windows-based products,” he noted.

Samsung has already announced its decision to stop selling Windows RT tablets in the United States and in some European countries, including Germany, so the company now has every reason in the world to criticize the newly released platform. Don’t be too surprised if other similar attacks reach the media in the near future.
