As I’ve told you this morning, EA Sports launched their popular game FIFA 14 on Windows 8 Metro, offering it free of charge to all those who have already made the move to Microsoft’s modern platform.

The game, which is undoubtedly the number one football title out there, comes with a huge database that would appeal to any football fan out there who dreams to be just like Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, or Ibrahimovic.

EA Sports claims that FIFA 14 brings on Windows 8 Metro 34 leagues, 600 licensed teams, and more than 16,000 players, which is undoubtedly impressive for a free title.

“From the English Premier League to La Liga and beyond. Plus, for the first time on mobile, listen to commentaries in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish!” the developing company says.

We’ve played the game on the first-generation Surface RT and although it seemed to be a bit slow at first, FIFA 14 is actually running smoothly on this tablet once all files are loaded. It’s not easy to play it with touch controls, that’s for sure, but it’s pretty challenging, especially if you do like football games.

Graphics are not overwhelming, but they’re still decent, while game music is quite awesome, just like in any other FIFA version released in the last few years. Most of the options that you can find on PC and consoles are still there, so it’s clearly one of the titles that deserve a shot, especially because it’s free.
