The most recent release of the stable version of Firebug does not introduce new features, as it focuses on fixing problems in order to increase functionality and stability.

Although changes in this build do not come in great number, one in particular deserves more attention since it provides a workaround for a crash on Mac and Linux systems running Firefox 9. Ironically, a bug in the debugger service in Firefox 9 would disable the Script panel. In order to avoid such issue the developer recommends moving to Firefox 10.

Firebug 1.9.1 also sports some patches that have been ported from the version 1.10 of the extension. These solve issues with pasting a multi-line command when the console is under another tab or allowing quotes to be entered into “style” attribute.

Firebug extension for Mozilla-based browsers is one of the most powerful and popular web development tools and can be downloaded from this page.
