Firefox for Windows 8 is one of the most anticipated apps on Microsoft’s modern platforms, pretty much because Internet Explorer is currently the only powerful browser that’s available in the Metro environment.

While Mozilla initially promised to launch a Metro version of Firefox in early January, the company has now delayed the unveiling, saying that it still has a bunch of bugs to fix before pushing the app out of beta.

The official launch of the Metro browser will take place on March 18 when Firefox 28 is expected to be released to all users.

At this point, Firefox for Windows 8, which was officially announced in 2012 before Microsoft’s new operating system even got to see daylight, is offered to users in the form of a beta that’s rather slow and which comes with a number of bugs that make it impossible to use the application on a regular basis.
