UltimatePoker has officially become the first legal online poker site in the United States, but because it’s yet to develop a Mac OS X client, the company is trying to attract new players with a very special offer.

Wired writes that UltimatePoker is offering Windows 7 and VMFusion licenses for free to Mac OS X players, just to make sure it brings as many users as possible.

While this indeed sounds pretty awesome for Apple fanboys who wish to play poker online even though they’re not running Windows, there’s a catch.

In order to get the “free” Windows 7 and VMFusion licenses, players need to spend at least $5,000 (€3,800) in the online poker rooms.

“We want to do everything we can to get them to play,” Chris Derossi, CTO of UltimatePoke, was quoted as saying.

So far, no Mac OS X user has registered for the offer, he said. We wonder why.
