Google updated the dev channel for their web browser to build 24.0.1305.3. It is available for all supported platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome Frame) and integrates a batch of updates designed to improve its functionality, as well as repairs.

V8 engine has been updated to version 3.14.5.0, which includes function deoptimization speed up (avoids quadratic pass over optimized function list) and adds a faster API for creating “v8::Integer” objects.

In the fresh revision, bookmarks are searched by their title in the address bar and the matches are displayed in the suggestion list. Also important is the fact that the matching is done by prefix.

On Windows editions that sport a Start button, the shortcut for uninstalling Google Chrome is no longer present in the Start Menu, as per Microsoft’s specifications for their app launching point.
