Google has rolled out a new revision for the Drive client for the company’s file storage and synchronization service, incrementing the build number to 1.11.

Among the most important changes in the new Google Drive there is the ability to add shortcuts for Google Docs, Sheets and Slides.

The files will be placed on the desktop and the start menu for the new users, while old ones will be able to access them from the start menu. The purpose of this move is to offer easier access to creating and editing documents.

Apart from this, the new release features improved configuration as users can now define an arbitrary name for the sync folder.

Repairs are also on the list of changes and they address problems occurring mostly on OS X. One of them is a crashing error (on OS X 10.6.8); another refers to an issue related to the context menu from the Finder’s column view.
