If you’re bothered by the high temperature, exchange your tablet, Microsoft says

A few days ago, we wrote about several reports of Surface Pro overheating, as several users complained that their tablets were getting extremely hot when running specific apps.

Since this could quickly become a common issue, Microsoft decided to present the normal working temperatures for the Surface Pro, recommending users “bothered” by the high temperatures to contact a company store and exchange their tablets.

Basically, the Surface Pro temperature should reach 37 degrees Celsius on a cold boot and running on battery, while with a connected charger it should go up to 44 degrees Celsius, according to Steven_B, a Microsoft forum moderator and member of the Surface team.

“If the temperature issue is really bothering you, you can exchange the Surface Pro and see if you experience the same issue with a different one,” he said.

Users, on the other hand, claim that temperatures skyrockets to 70 degrees Celsius when playing games, so don’t be too surprised if a lot of owners rush to Microsoft stores to exchange their devices.
