Hyper for YouTube remains a very successful Windows 8 application, so updates are now being delivered on a regular basis.

A new version that got released today brings music metadata and backdrop fetching, while also disabling the ability to log in with unlinked YouTube accounts. This was necessary because of compatibility issues, so make sure you deploy the update as soon as possible.

At the same time, the new version comes to address some bugs reported in previous releases, which means that a minor performance improvement should also be experienced after installing the update. Simply launch the Store and check out the updates section for the new version.

Hyper for YouTube continues to work okay on all Windows builds out there, including the tablet-oriented RT also powering Microsoft’s very own Surface RT device.
