Microsoft is now criticized for the “minor” hardware improvements on the Surface 2

Microsoft last week presented the second-generation Surface tablet, which includes improved versions of both the RT and the Pro models, with sales scheduled to debut on October 22.

But as far as Jack Gold, a technology analyst at J. Gold Associates, is concerned, there is no reason to purchase a Surface tablet, especially since they bring such minor hardware improvements.

“I don't see much incentive for people to buy these devices. Yes, they are cheaper than the iPads, but is that enough reason? It seems like Microsoft is just maintaining the traditional PC mantra - keep upgrading the chip and hardware a little bit every year at a slightly lower price. I think they needed to do something that was innovative beyond the first generation, and I don't see that in these devices,” he was quoted as saying by India Today.

The Surface 2 is now powered by an Nvidia Tegra 4 processor and a full HD display, while the Surface Pro 2 features an Intel i5 chip and up to 8 GB of RAM.
