It appears that carrier testing takes more than expected

The Lumia Denim launch date saga continues with another episode, this time coming via sources based in Finland and pointing to a possible delay for all users.

Lumia Denim was initially expected to launch in the fourth quarter of this year, and some people even claimed that a number of features showed up on their devices, but the official Microsoft Lumia Finland Facebook account now suggests that a January launch is more likely.

In a message posted on its page and spotted by Puhelinvertailu, Microsoft says that Lumia Denim would launch next month, after carrier testing comes to an end, once again confirming that the company has already completed development of this firmware update and is now waiting for approval from carriers.

No other details have been provided, but previous reports indicated that Microsoft might be planning a gradual release of Denim, with flagship devices, such as Lumia 930 and Lumia 1520, likely to be the first ones getting the updates.

What's more, it was initially believed that these two particular models would get the update in December, while the rest of the Lumia phone lineup would receive it in early 2015, and some sources familiar with Microsoft's plans even pointed out that the rollout could take up to two months.

As you can see, there are a lot of vague details right now, but Microsoft itself remains really tight-lipped on this and doesn't want to share more information beside the usual "waiting for carrier approval" message.
