MediaCoder received an update over the weekend, to build 0.8.22.5508. It is a minor revision designed to improve overall stability and functionality of the program.

The list of changes available in this revision is three-entries long and announces two repairs and a new capability.

This release of the application does away with a bug in Segmental Video Encoding (SVE) that may have caused a freeze upon completing the encoding operation. Also removed is a glitch responsible for freezing the crop dialog.

SVE technology has been recently introduced in the application and its purpose is to accelerate video encoding. This is achieved by loading a couple of minutes of video frames into the memory and sending the frames to multiple encoder instances.

As for the new capability available in this release, the developer informs that it added the possibility to convert video/image to C array code.
