Microsoft has accidentally revealed the date of the upcoming BUILD developer conference, but the company acknowledged the mistake very fast and removed all references in just a few minutes.

Just like Neowin points out, Microsoft published on its press release site an article announcing that BUILD 2014 would be held in San Francisco, just like this year’s edition. The event will take place between April 2 and 4, in the exact same place.

While there are no details as to why the company decided to remove the listing from its website, it’s pretty clear that Microsoft is preparing some major announcements for the upcoming BUILD conference, especially because it continues efforts to get closer to developers.

This year’s event brought us the preview version of Windows 8.1, which marked the return of the Start button and the debut of several new options for the modern operating system.

Update: Microsoft has confirmed that BUILD 2014 will take place in early April.
