Microsoft has just announced that Windows 8.1 users will receive a brand new game later this summer that's already available on Xbox gaming consoles.

Zoo Tycoon Friends will come in the form of a free casual simulation and building game that will offer support for both Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 and will include synchronization options between devices to start the game on a desktop PC and continue playing it on a smartphone from where you left off.

“In ‘Zoo Tycoon Friends,’ players will join Arthur and his daughter Simone on a journey around the globe to tackle 15 missions and more than 100 quests to save exotic animal,” Microsoft revealed.

The game will be completely free of charge, but additional in-app purchases will also be offered. Microsoft says that users paying for content will also be allowed to remove advertisements, while those who have already purchased the Xbox version of the game will receive a special gift when they log in.

The game is very likely to bring support for both Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1, which means that those who have purchased a Surface RT or Surface 2 will also be able to play it on their tablets.

Additional information will be provided soon as we move closer to the launch date.
