Microsoft has recently announced that Tony Scott, the company’s CIO in charge of internal IT operations, decided to leave the company to “focus on personal projects.”

In addition, the Softies confirmed that Jim Dubois, currently its vice president of IT product and services management, would take over the vacant role until the company names a new CIO.

“Tony Scott decided to depart Microsoft to focus on personal projects. While at Microsoft, Tony was a strong IT leader passionate about taking Microsoft’s technology to the next level and using our experiences and learnings to help customers and partners. We thank Tony for his contributions and wish him well,” Microsoft said in a statement for GeekWire.

Scott himself has confirmed the news as well, revealing that he’s looking to spend more time with his family and suggesting that he could return to full-time work sometime in the future.
