Paul Allen, Microsoft's co-founder who's not as focused on charity as Bill Gates, has recently sold his 292-acre island in the San Juans for $8 million (€5.8 million) after being initially listed in 2005 for no less than $25 million.

The Seattle Times writes that the island, which is called Allan Island after a Navy hero, is located southwest of Anacortes and west of Burrows Bay.

The island is only accessible by private planes, boats or float planes, and will host up to 12 homes under the new owner, the same source adds.

Microsoft's co-founder Paul Allen has a net worth of $15.8 billion, which makes him the 53rd billionaire in Forbes' world charts.

According to Forbes, Paul Allen owns approximately $2 billion in Microsoft stock and owns several other businesses that bring him quite a fortune every year. He's single and lives in Mercer Island, WA.
