SkyDrive is getting more updates on a regular basis now and a new report claims that more exciting features are expected to be added to the cloud-based storage service in the near future.

One of them is a new folder permission level that would grant other users with enhanced privileges for specific files.

LiveSide.net writes that Microsoft will soon allow SkyDrive users to set up co-owners for specific folders, in addition to the “View Only” and “View and Edit” options already available.

The recipients will thus be able not only to view the target files, but also to add, edit, and delete them. In addition, co-owners will be provided with features to invite other users to access files.

At this point, there’s no release date for this new option, but expect it to be here by October when Microsoft is also expected to launch the final version of the Windows 8.1 update.
