Microsoft is one of the companies supporting D.C.’s blended learning initiative, as the tech giant recently donated $1 million (€777,000) to bring new technologies in schools.

The whole idea behind this new initiative is pretty simple. Select teachers would be provided with quick access to new technologies and resources in such a way that they would then be capable of bringing them in classrooms and thus support their adoption by students.

Microsoft’s funds will help double the number of teachers that take part in the campaign, according to a report published by the Washington Post, but the tech giant wants to put the focus on science, technology engineering and match teachers.

The tech giant would most likely continue to support the initiative in the next few years, so don’t be too surprised if the company also offers access to some of its latest products, such as Windows and Surface tablets.
