The company is planning to improve its offering to Windows users

Microsoft is looking into ways to improve the experience offered to users on any device running Windows by embracing a new strategy which puts the focus on apps and services exclusively available on its operating system.

WMPowerUser has come across a new job ad published by Microsoft on the Career website that brings this new strategy in the spotlight, while also reminding us that a new Office version of Windows Phone is in the works.

In the meantime, however, Redmond is trying to switch to the “first-and-best on Windows” approach that could clearly bring more users on tablets, PCs and smartphones running its modern platform.

Here’s what the job ad reads:

“Having already shipped Office on Windows Phone 8 – a key milestone that highlights the importance of our ‘first-and-best on Windows’ strategy. As MOD moves to focusing on the next Office, Office applications will need to preserve consistency in functionality as they ride across a continuum of form factors, while still differentiating themselves enough to embrace the target platform they run on.”

Of course, Microsoft has only provided vague details regarding the secret meaning of this concept, but expect the company to prepare several Windows-exclusives for 2014.
