Microsoft has teamed up with NORAD to redesign the official webpage of the tracking service with touch-friendly options that make the website compatible with new products such as tablets.

The page now comes with full support for Internet Explorer, with the team behind the project working with NORAD to make the Santa tracking service completely optimized for the touch. At the same time, Bing is the sole provider of maps used to track Santa, while Windows Azure serves as the foundation for the entire service.

Skype also offers click-to-call options to get more information on Santa’s adventure around the world, while upcoming Windows and Windows Phone apps will bring all these details right in the Modern UI.

“Using 3D technology with WebGL, families can now explore a more realistic-looking version of Santa’s Village and Santa’s trek across the world. With just one swipe of a finger, families can explore Santa’s Village, spin the globe or play the holiday games as they arrive each day,” Microsoft said.
