Microsoft’s BUILD 2015 developer conference proved to be quite a hit, at least for day 1, as millions of people across the world watched the event live only to hear about the very latest news concerning Windows 10.

Just as expected, Microsoft detailed some of the improvements it’s making in Windows 10, and together with these announcements, it also rolled out a video to highlight the key features of the new operating system.

As was anticipated, Redmond presents the new Start menu and describes it as a familiar way to get things done, while also showcasing Cortana, the personal assistant that will debut on PCs too.

“Quick startup and performance” is one of the tag lines of the video, which clearly emphasizes Microsoft’s effort to make the new operating system superior to Windows 8 in terms of speed. Windows 8 was often criticized by users for its performance, despite the fact that a number of tests proved that it was actually faster on some PCs.

Obviously, Microsoft uses this video to brag about Windows 10 and it’s no wonder why. The company sees Windows 10 as a new way to tackle not only the desktop but also phones and tablets, with the operating system being supposed to bring together all these devices.

Windows 10 will debut during the summer of 2015, but the OS can already be installed in the form of a preview running on both PCs and smartphones.
