Microsoft’s Surface RT remains a controversial product, especially because the company itself had to turn to a $900 million (€780 million) write-down to adjust inventories due to unsold tablets.

But the tech giant continues to improve the device, so today a new firmware update promises to update system drivers in such a way that you should notice enhanced stability and reliability quickly after installation comes to an end.

In addition, the UEFI firmware update optimizes the audio experience at low volumes, while also removing a perceived pulsing in audio volume for some content.

Installing the firmware update isn’t rocket science, as you only need to connect the device to the Internet and wait for Windows Update to get it. Simply reboot the tablet and you should be ready to go.
