A new round of statistics released by advertising network AdDuplex reveals that Microsoft is only the sixth Windows 8 device maker in the world, while HP continues to top the rankings.

According to these new figures, HP currently makes 23 percent of the Windows 8 and Windows RT devices on the market, while Dell comes second with 11 percent. ASUS, Acer and Toshiba are next with 10, 9 and 8 percent, respectively, while Microsoft is only sixth with 6 percent.

As you most likely know by now, Microsoft is already selling two different tablets, namely the Surface RT and the Pro, both of which are available in the United States and a few other markets.

Microsoft is struggling to make them available in new countries as we speak, with the United Kingdom, Germany, France and a few other European states projected to get the Pro model by the end of May.
