Microsoft is gearing up for its back to school campaign, showcasing several Metro apps that would allow adopters of its latest operating system to shop online without even leaving the Modern UI.

A new category displayed under the “Spotlight” section provides access to shopping tools, which include apps such as Best Buy, Amazon, Staples, Office Depot, and Digital Folio.

At the same time, the category provides one-tap access to education apps, such as periodic tables, Encyclopedia Britannica, OneNote, Advanced English Dictionary. Flashcards Pro, Audible – Audiobooks and More, and Algebra Touch.

“Summer is almost over, which means the days are getting shorter and it’s almost time to head back to school. Get ready for class with these apps and make this your best year yet,” the section description published in the Store reads.
