Redmond-based tech giant Microsoft continues its ad offensive for the Surface RT, even though insiders suggest that the company is very close to releasing the second-generation version of the tablet.

Microsoft has just released a new iPad vs. Surface RT ad, again trying to show everyone that its very own tablet is not only better than Apple’s device, but also cheaper. The 32 GB Surface RT is now available for only $349 (€261) with the company’s $100 (€75) discount.

Of course, the Softies bring the key features of the Surface RT in the spotlight, including the full-size USB 2.0 port, the built-in kickstand, the Office productivity suite, and the attachable keyboard that turns it into a very portable netbook.

Unfortunately for Microsoft, this type of ads doesn’t seem to make any difference, so CEO Steve Ballmer was recently forced to turn to a $900 million (€780 million) write-down to adjust inventories across the world due to unsold tablets.
