One of the most criticized things about Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 was the lack of apps, especially on RT versions of the operating systems that were locked in the Modern UI and had no other option than to run tools found in the store.

Things have been improved a lot lately, Microsoft says, and the launch of 8.1 brought many more high-quality apps in the store, so it’s now easier to find the programs you want with just a few clicks.

That’s the idea of a new advertisement released by Redmond today, with the company saying that “Windows has all the apps and games you need for work and play.”

Truth is, several large companies have indeed brought important apps in the store lately, including Facebook, whose Modern client is already experiencing a terrific success on both tablets and desktop PCs running Windows 8.1.
