Microsoft has indeed expanded the accessories lineup for the Surface tablet, but it appears that Redmond has much more than that in mind.

A video rolled out this morning shows the students at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California developing a series of crazy accessories, including several interactive toys, weird controllers, a game pad, a solar power panel and even a watch.

While the company hasn't talked too much about this video, it does seem to be an indication that more accessories could work on the revamped Surface tablet and Microsoft might allow third parties to join the fun.

Microsoft has already added some new accessories to the Surface lineup, including a car charger, a docking station, a power cover and a so-called Music Mix Cover that allows DJs to create remixes of their songs on a Windows RT or Windows 8 tablet.
