Windows 9 could see daylight in April 2015, but according to information that surfaced last week, a preview build of the operating system might be unveiled for users in late September or early October.

It turns out however that Microsoft might after all delay the launch of Windows 9 Preview for a few weeks, as development work on this very first public flavor of the new OS isn’t going exactly as planned.

This rumor comes via Twitter user Faikee, who has already provided us with lots of accurate reports on Windows 9, but it’s yet to be confirmed by Microsoft or somebody else involved in the development process.

Windows 9 is expected to bring quite a lot of changes to users, including a new Start menu that would restore full desktop functionality in modern Windows, a PC version of Cortana, Internet Explorer 12, and some Metro UI improvements.

The Charms bar is very likely to be removed from the desktop, while some people close to the matter have also pointed to other changes, including a new place for the taskbar clock.

Do not forget however that Microsoft doesn’t wish to comment on any future projects, so what we have here is pure speculation. And still, if a Windows 9 Preview build is scheduled to see daylight next month, expect to see the company share more info on the project in the coming weeks.
