Microsoft is spending a lot on research and development, there’s no secret about that but, according to a new report, the company’s expenditure in this regard is the third largest at the global level.

According to a Rediff report published by SiliconIndia, Toyota leads the top with $9.9 billion (€7.6 billion) invested in R&D, followed by Samsung and Microsoft with $9 billion (€6.9 billion).

The Redmond-based technology giant is still considered one of the best companies to invest in, as “innovation has been a tagline of Microsoft from the early period and it continues to maintain this,” as the source wrote.

As for its rival, Google comes only fifth, while Amazon and Apple are seventh and eighth, respectively. The fruit-named company, for example, is spending only $2.4 billion (€1.8 billion) on R&D, according to this report.
