2014 is going to be a fairly big year for Microsoft, so the company is working hard right now to extend its retail network with two new locations in Arizona and California.

While there are no details when Microsoft could actually open the new stores, the company is already hiring staff for locations in Phoenix, Arizona and Sacramento, California.

The new shops could open in time for the launch of Windows 8.1 Spring GDR Update, the next important Windows rollout that is supposed to bring several major improvements for Windows 8.1.

Microsoft has remained tight-lipped until now on this update, but sources familiar with the matter said that it could arrive in early 2014 and in addition to 8.1 improvements, it could also bring us the Windows Phone 8.1 release.

At this point, Microsoft has 84 stores across the United States and Canada, but the company has recently signed a deal with Best Buy to open 500 stores within a store.
