Microsoft has recently unveiled its first Technology Center in Africa, thus trying to provide local companies and developers with support and technology for creating what it calls next-generation solutions.

At the same time, the new facility is expected to help Microsoft continue its 4Afrika initiative and expand access to broadband across the country.

“This center is all about collaboration and building an entire ecosystem of innovation. We want to dramatically speed up the pace of innovation, and help our customers and partners slash the time it takes to get solutions and applications to market,” Mteto Nyati, Microsoft SA’s managing director, was quoted as saying by VentureBurn.

Basically, Microsoft promises that the technology giant is open to anyone who wants to test a specific product before it goes live, including students, app developers and small companies that might need its support.
