“Bing my lockscreen” has been renamed to “Amazing lock screen”

“Bing my lockscreen” was a Windows 8 application that allowed adopters of Microsoft’s new operating system to customize their lock screens using the Bing image of the day.

It turns out, however, that Microsoft has asked the developers behind the project to rename their apps, pointing to a copyright infringement for using the Bing designation.

The app has thus been renamed to “Amazing lock screen,” but it continues to offer the same feature package, including basic options to download the Bing image of the day and set it as lock screen background.

It’s still offered for free and comes with full Windows 8 support, giving users the option to save the images to local drives. What’s more, it also comprises live tile support, displaying the most recent 5 images right on the Start Screen.
