Microsoft keeps releasing new themes aimed at Windows users on a regular basis, in an attempt to provide them with more customization options regardless of the OS version they are running.

This time, however, the company decided to go for wallpapers, with several new high-resolution photos published on the official Microsoft desktop backgrounds page.

The company claims that these wallpapers are for those who “have an older version of Windows that can’t use theme or for those who prefer to use a single image.”

Of course, these wallpapers can be used basically on any operating system out there, including not only Windows, but also Mac OS X and Linux distributions. Using them as desktop wallpapers is as easy as opening a page, right-clicking and hitting the “Set as background” option in any browser out there.
