Microsoft rolled out this month’s Patch Tuesday updates only a few hours ago, with the company releasing a total of four critical and three important bulletins.

The security update was developed to resolve nine issues in Internet Explorer, as basically every single version still supported by Microsoft was affected by a critical vulnerability.

According to Microsoft’s advisory, a successful exploitation of the flaw could allow an attacker to take control of an unpatched system once the user was directed to a compromised website.

“The most severe vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted webpage using Internet Explorer. All but one of these issues were privately disclosed and we have not detected any attacks or customer impact for any of the issues,” Microsoft said.

The bulletin is codenamed MS13-021 and is one of the three updates that should be prioritized by system administrators, the company recommended.
