The patch is supposed to address a touchscreen issue

As announced a few days ago, Microsoft rolled out a new software update for Lumia 535, the first device on the market wearing the Microsoft Lumia brand, in order to fix some widespread touchscreen issues on the phone.

Several users have confirmed, and we experienced the same thing on our testing unit here at Softpedia, that the Lumia 535 is affected by a touchscreen issue that sometimes causes lag when scrolling through menus and installed apps.

In a post on the Nokia forums, a Microsoft employee has revealed that the new update is now being shipped to Lumia 535 units across the world, but it could take a while until all devices get it.

The latest software version for Lumia 535 is Lumia Denim (02054.00000.14485.370xx / 8.10.14219.341) and obviously includes all the benefits of the Denim firmware update, among which Cortana and options to perform update deployment at a configured hour.

As far as the touchscreen issues are concerned, it remains to be seen if this patch indeed fixes problems experienced by buyers of the first Microsoft Lumia device on the market. Those who still have this problem can always turn to a temporary workaround that requires them to go over to Settings > Ease of access and disable “Screen magnifier.”

In the meantime, make sure that you check for updates and install all patches to get all these improvements on your Lumia 535 as well.
